'Hidden Figures' an exciting new movie role for Jim.

Jim Parsons will appear in Hidden Figures, as the head engineer of a Space Task Group at NASA. The story revolves around a team of African American female mathematicians, during the Civil Rights era. Starring Octavia Spencer, Taraji P. Henson and Janelle Monae as the trio of mathematicians who help out the space program while confronting segregation in the United States.

Parsons will join Kevin Costner and Kirsten Durst in the film, which also co-stars Glen Powell as astronaut John Glenn and House Of Cards’ Mahershala Ali as Henson’s love interest.

The film is based based on the adaptation of Margot Lee Shetterly’s book, Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race, and is out next January.
